LONDON CALLING IN DUBAI

 London Calling, Marks & Spencer theme for this Autumn/Winter '14 Fashion Show held at Waldorf Astoria, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai last 17th of September, attended by the most influential socialites in town, finest bloggers and media. The beauty and contemporary sophistication of one of the World's celebrated cities, London was recreated in a glamorous runway setting to present the luxurious simplicity and modern minimalism of the new collection. 

The Autumn Winter Menswear collection is based on classic, masculine elegance with a focus on bold tailoring, fine fabrics, contrasting textures and iconic pieces. Across the sub brands, menswear staples have been updated with key trend references, from the Autograph leather bomber jacket, the M&S Collection spot shirt and the North Coast khaki jacket to M&S Collection Luxury blue velvet evening wear.

 The new season sees an increasing overlap of formalwear and casual wear  with traditional tailored shapes taking on a new form through the use of casual fabrics, specifically on styles such as the M&S Collection jersey blazer.  Casual wear smartens up with Autograph geometric printed shirts, teamed with printed ties, bright coloured knits and double breasted coats.   Blue Harbour focuses on the British heritage sports trends, with block colour and bold stripes key to casual layering.  Footwear and accessories play on iconic shapes with softly structured holdalls and classic shoppers key additions to winter getaways, whilst trend-led pieces such as buckled monk strap shoes and coloured woven belts add interest to new season outfits.

NEW LOOK AW14 FASHION STAPLES

NEW LOOK just launched their newest Autumn/Winter 2014 collection last 17th of September at the Lila Café, MCN Bldg., Tecom, Dubai and we had the chance to get a sneak peek of their new concept store. Some of the finest bloggers in town, media and socialites joined together to check out the latest pieces and share what they think about the collection. 

The New Look A/W14 collection has strong naval and military influences; stormy seas and dark skies inspire the colour palette, prints and heavy textures. Deep blues and greens are accented with pops of neon and offset with khaki and muted tones. Cable knit jumpers, wool pea coats, Breton stripes and heavy military boots are key.

My obsession for black leather jacket become massive and when i saw the Newlook's Bomber Jacket, all what i think of is to take it home!

Urban influences are seen in sportswear separates – joggers, tees and baseball jackets are given a luxe update with the use of zips, panelling and texture. 

Tailoring is slim and tapered with a modern update on checks, dogtooth and contrast panelling. Long wool overcoats and PU details showcase a darker direction for formalwear. Slogan sweats alongside pastel hues give a Parisian-chic edge that adds a touch of prep to the collection.

I am totally obsessed with Newlook the navy and burgundy is such a huge trend this season and match it with knit & leather pieces is such a stunner.
