MEZZA HOUSE IN DOWNTOWN DUBAI

Last weekend i decided to go to Downtown Dubai with two of my friends from Abu Dhabi, and explore what this gorgeous place has to offer when it comes to authentic and modern restaurants across the streets while having a spectacular scenery of the world's tallest tower, The Burj Khalifa. Perfect timing cause my friend Leila from WhiteLabel Middle East PR invited us to try the amazing cuisines from different region like Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine in MEZZA House. 

I love visiting Downtown Dubai to explore a different atmosphere compare to the city proper, where you will be able to experience the traditional cultures with a little bit of modernity. 

We first tried their mocktails in mason jars, this is so trendy right now, i love the fact that MEZZA House are so updated. I actually planning of getting my own jar.

For the appetizer, we had the cold ones. Consists of tabouleh, homous, vine leaves, fattoush salad with matching breads. Delightful start for a festive beginning.

And for the hot appetizer, we had the beef with mushroom, chicken liver, sumptuous potato with a lil bit of kick of spice and some pastries. 

It so hilarious, cause as you can see the appetizers are just heavy as it looks but its not just about it, look at this huge wooden plate filled with grilled Lamb ribs, chicken, kabob sticks and with fries on the side. The presentation is just so awesome, mouth-watering as it appears and the taste is divine. 

To cool us up, what an delightful Moroccan Tea and assorted flavors of ice cream, and my ultimate favorite the Cotton candy ice cream, who will not love that, right? What a great way to end our journey to this amazing delightful treat that MEZZA house prepared for us.

SAVOURY AFTERNOON TEA AT FORTNUM & MASON

It has been a very hectic day, out and about meetings, events and shoot around Downtown Dubai, beneath The Dubai Mall and with a spectacular view of the Tallest tower in the World, The Burj Khalifa. We wanted to sit, relax and spent the time watching the amazing dancing fountain and have a savoury afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason, the one & only shop outside the UK, this stunning  9, 400 sq. ft destination in the sunny sandpit called Dubai will definitely leave a mark to those who want to experience the English traditions and taste the sumptuous tea together with some fine indulgence that we all love. 

Elegance, sophistication and soft vibrant ambiance of the Tea Salon,  which we absolutely love. 
The colors of the interior are irrevocably intertwined, i am so fascinated how the good vibration giving it to me is so refreshing and relaxing.

I started with this sumptuous Assam Domour Tea, just the smell of it is truly remarkable. The aroma of it smoothen your thoughts, makes you relax and just think of nothing.  And Mark had the Jasmine Phoenix Pearl that is so divine. 

And the dose of bread selections, from sandwiches to mouth-watering canapés are superb. A little bit of taste of everything is just so wonderful.

We also tried the Charlotte cake and Chocolate sachertorte for dessert 

An amazing dining experience at its finest, try the best of the best tea in town and mesmerize by the beauty of the inside and out of the F&M Store. Did i mention about the amazing terrace, and the two other floors? Stay tune for my next review for it...

Fortnum & Mason has taken the tradition of Afternoon Tea and added a host of delicious savoury dishes to the menu. From Victoria Lobster Omelette to Braised Lamb Shoulder, Crab Souffle to Butternut Squash Risotto, Fortnum’s has a plate to suit every palette.

Since the 17^th Century the British have embraced the ceremony of Tea and by the 1800s the tradition of Afternoon tea had diversified into a separate meal in itself.  Aside from finger sandwiches, homemade scones and lashings of clotted cream, Fortnum’s new Tea Salon savouries add another layer of pleasure for your Afternoon Tea enjoyment!

ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN SOUK AL BAHAR, URBANO

Are you looking for a Italian vibe restaurant where you can dine while having a luxurious way of entertainment with the spectacular Dancing Fountain and the World's tallest structure the Burj Khalifa, head to Souk Al Bahar in the Old Town Dubai and visit Urbano,  a market-inspired environment, with a mixture of modern style and traditional feel. Segmented into a café, ‘trattoria’ and pizzeria, with gourmet take away available.

The mix of modern contemporary and industrial feel, definitely set the vibes of a very classic and homy ambiance, with the marble tables, leather seats and banquettes, and wide oak wooden planks for the floor that contrast with the smooth light coloured walls. A marble bar and wood burning pizza oven are key features of the restaurant where you are able to see the talented Chefs in action.

 This sumptuous dishes will surely take you to heaven, and we absolutely enjoyed it, a perfect way to start our journey on the way to the heart of Italy. The picture tells it all. 

 

 Vilson, made us a very refreshing mocktails that night and I totally recommend to try the Mojitos, so good that i asked for my second glass.

We will not definitely leave without trying their freshly baked pizza, which is so cheesy and crispy. One of the specialty of Urbano, well what is a Italian Restaurant with no pizza, right?  

Are you starving now guys? wait until you see this next course.  

Blaze your eyes with this Smoke Salmon with mashed potato, Mark can't get enough of this mouthful delight that the juiciness of the salmon giving him. 

 And i just went so crazy with this Breast chicken filled with mushrooms and potatoes underneath, glazed with indulgence 

This ranges from the traditional Sicilian dessert Cassata - chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream mixed with dried fruits and covered with vanilla sponge to our mouthwatering Tiramisu 

Whether you want to enjoy the beautiful views of the Dubai fountain with authentic Italian cuisine or enjoy a family get together in a casual environment with delicious Italian specialties, the Chefs at Urbano have carefully crafted new dishes that will grant guests a taste of Italy from the heart of Dubai.
